Marshall Lee Williford, Jr., of 111 Pembroke Circle, Edenton, NC, passed away on Saturday, September 30, 2023.
Mr. Williford was born in Hertford County on October 23, 1954 and was the son of Barbara Lena Mizelle Williford of Windsor and the late Marshall Lee Williford, Sr. In addition to his father he was preceded in death by his brother, Eric Kent Williford.
Mr. Williford was the steward of The Wash House Laundromat chain since 1973, and was well known in the laundromat industry where he served on the National Coin Laundry Association board of directors.
Marshall was an active member of his community, entrepreneur, leader in his church, and the ultimate family man. He was a faithful husband, Dad and Papa. Being husband to Teri, Dad to their four children, and Papa to his 12 “Grands” was the absolute joy of his life. “Marcell”, as his friends called him was an avid bass fisherman, water skier, and outdoorsman. He enjoyed coaching many different sports throughout his lifetime.
Surviving in addition to his mother is his wife of 46 years, Teri Francis Williford; their children, Bobi Williford Bobbitt (Justis), Marshall Lee Williford III (Stacy), Lynse Williford Rivenbark (Josh), and Luke Francis Williford (Morgan); 12 grandchildren, Jaden, Jack, Fisher, Tucker, Evelyn, Isadora, Grier, Francie, Ellie, Grace, Marshall Lee, and Liam Luke. Also surviving is his sister, Trudy Williford Bowen (Bill), his brother, Rodney Williford (Kay), and many nieces, nephews, and extended members of both the Williford and Francis families.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 3, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. in Open Door Church, 1255 Haughton Road, Edenton, and will be conducted by Pastors Steve Mizell and Jay Rivenbark.
The private committal will be in Edgewood Cemetery, Windsor.
