Diane Ainsley Outlaw

   Evelyn Diane Ainsley Outlaw, 78, of Aulander, NC, passed away Saturday, December 9, 2023 in Windsor House.

   Mrs. Outlaw was born in Tyrrell County on July 11, 1945, and was the daughter of the late Thomas Howard, Sr. and Ima Jeanette Phelps Ainsley. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, J.D. Outlaw, a brother, Thomas H. “Buddy” Ainsley, Jr., and by a half-sister, Lisa Nichols.

   She retired as the owner and operator of Ryan’s Café.

   Surviving are her three sons, Roy Ball, Jr. (Erica) of Roanoke Rapids, Richard Ball (Rhonda) of Aulander, and Ryan Ball (Crystal) of Windsor; two sisters, Gloria Gibbs of Scotland Neck and Terri Williams of Chatham, VA; seven grandchildren, Makayla, Linsey, Haley, Brandon, Savannah, Cadence, and Adam; a great-granddaughter, Paisley, and a great-grandson, Reed, due to be born in January.

   A memorial service will be held Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. in Oak Grove Baptist Church, 1437 NC 11, Aulander, NC. Friends may visit with the family in the church social hall immediately following the service, and other times at Ryan and Crystal’s home, 316 Republican Road, Windsor.

   In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
