Winston Lee Dail

   Winston Lee Dail, 77, of 704 Happy Home Road, Tyner, NC, died Friday, September 4, 2020 in his home.

   Mr. Dail was born in Chowan County on October 8, 1942, and was the son of the late Preston and Eva Twine Dail. A graduate of Emmanuel College in Franklin Springs, GA where he received his Bachelor’s Degree, he later received his Master’s in History from East Carolina University. A retired teacher, he spent his entire 23 year career at the former Chowan High School. A faithful member of Happy Home Pentecostal Holiness Church, he also enjoyed membership in the Ryland Ruritan Club.

   In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles E. “Teeny” Dail and Robert Preston Dail.

   Surviving are his sister, Eva Dail “Sue” Smith of Tyner; two brothers, Earl Dail of Edenton and John A. Dail of Tyner; and several nieces and nephews.

   Funeral services will be held Monday at 10:00 a.m. at the Outdoors Tabernacle of Happy Home Pentecostal Holiness Church and will be conducted by the Rev. Darryl Stallings and the Rev. Derek Jones. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Seating is available, or for those who wish to do so, you may bring an outdoors lawn chair. The family will greet friends immediately following the service, or all other times at his niece’s home, Marie Jones, 646 Happy Home Road, Tyner.
