Willie Mae Butler Rose

 Willie Mae Butler Rose, 84, of 216 Riverwood Drive, Hertford, NC, passed away Thursday, February 20, 2025, in her home.

 Mrs. Rose was born in Burlington on September 19, 1940, and was the daughter of the late Chester McGlenn and Annie Inez Hamm Butler. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husbands, Carl “Hoot” Rose and Donald Cook, sisters, Martha Jackson and Lenora Langley, and by brothers, Oscar and Ray Butler.

 Surviving is her daughter, Hope Rose Leicester (Matt); a son, Randy Harrell; former daughter-in-law, Chelle Harrell; two brothers, Roy and Chester Butler; three grandchildren, Tucker Harrell (Chelsea), Morgan Wood (Calen), and Alyssa Leicester; and a great-grandson, Wyatt Harrell.

 In accordance with her wishes, no services will be held. Friends may join the family at the residence.

 Flowers are welcomed and will be accepted at her home or memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
