Percy Davis, Jr.

   Willie Percy Davis, Jr., 74, of 163 Stevenson Drive, Hertford, NC, passed away Monday, December 17, 2018, in Sentara Albemarle Medical Center, Elizabeth City.

   Mr. Davis was born in Perquimans County on July 16, 1944, and was the son of the late Willie Percy, Sr. and Nellie Tarkenton Davis. A retired mechanic, for many years he owned and operated Davis BP in Hertford. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Alice Sawyer Davis; a brother, Whichard Davis; and by a grandson, Jonah Davis.

   Surviving are his daughter, Mary Elizabeth Langley and husband, T.J.; a son, Willie Percy Davis, III and wife, Kim, all of Hertford; a sister, Bettie Potter of South Shore, KY; six grandchildren, Courtney, Cole, and Cerena Langley, Chasity Jensen, and Wayne and Krystal Simon; and three great-grandchildren, Lexi Davis, and Kaiden and Calob Jensen.

   Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2:00 p.m. in the Miller & Van Essendelft Funeral Chapel, 1125 Harvey Point Road, Hertford, and will be officiated by the Rev. William Byrum. Burial will follow in Cedarwood Cemetery. Friends may join the family at the residence.
