William Alfonse “Bill” Cuozzo, 87, of 1049 Soundside Road, died Sunday, August 1, 2021 in Elizabeth City Health and Rehabilitation.
Mr. Cuozzo was born in New Haven, CT on April 17, 1934, and was the son of the late William and Antoinett Petrucci Cuozzo. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two wives, Terry Malanfronte Cuozzo and Audrey Felsted Cuozzo, and by a brother, Alfonse Cuozzo.
A retired bread distributor with Arnold Bread, in earlier years he had been employed as a store manager with First National Stores. A member of St. Anne Catholic Church in Edenton, he also enjoyed membership in the American Legion in Peoria, AZ for many years. He was an Army veteran.
Surviving is his wife of 27 years, Margaret McCormack Cuozzo; a son, Patrick Hagerty (wife, Colleen) of Wallingford, CT; two grandchildren, Justin of Boston, MA and Heather of Auburn, AL; a sister, Judith Ahern of Seminole, FL; a niece, Cheryl Cuozzo; a nephew, Gary Cuozzo; and many others dear family members in the Malanfronte family.
A Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, August 14, at 11:00 a.m. in St. Anne Catholic Church, 207 N. Broad Street, Edenton, and will be conducted by Father Carlos Arce. Inurnment will follow in the church memorial garden.
A Memorial Mass will also be held Saturday, August 21, at 9:00 a.m. in St. Augustine Church, 30 Caputo Road, North Branford, CT.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Smilow Cancer Hospital, in care of Yale New Haven Hospital, P.O. Box 1849, New Haven, CT 06508.
