William Reginald Barnacascel, Sr.

   William Reginald Barnacascel, Sr., 82, of Windsor, NC, passed away April 5th, 2023.

   He was born on April 30th, 1940 in Bertie County. He was the son of the late William Judson Barnacascel and Bertha Leicester Barnacascel. Billy, known by family and friends as “Barney”, attended East Carolina College and graduated in 1962 with a degree in chemistry. He married the love of his life, Kay Heath, in 1964 and he stood by her side until she just recently passed. He was a long-time member of Lawrence Baptist Church. He was passionate about doing puzzles and loved to visit with friends and family on their porch.

   He was preceded in death by his wife, Kay Heath Barnacascel. He is survived by his sister Ann Bunch and his 3 children, William R. “Reggie” Barnacascel, Jr. (Betsy Wilbourne Barnacascel), Susan Hilbert, and Betsy Pittman (William G. Pittman, III). He is also survived by his 8 grandchildren, Heath (Shannon), Coleman, and Leyton Barnacascel, Allison and Aidan Pittman, Avery, Cooper and Lizzie Hilbert, his great-granddaughter Haisley Barnacascel, and his loyal cat Bob.

   The family will be receiving friends and loved ones from 1:00 to 2:15 at Lawrence Baptist Church fellowship Hall (1043 Cooper Hill Rd., Windsor, NC) on Saturday April 15th followed by a Celebration of Life service at 2:30 in the sanctuary.
