Whitney Divers Stallings

Whitney Divers Stallings, 38, of 102 Bank Street, Hobbsville, NC, died Tuesday, September 17, 2024, in Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.

 Whitney was born in Chowan County on August 29, 1986. A graduate of Perquimans County High School, she was a member of Hobbsville Baptist Church.

 Surviving are her parents, Martin Ellison “Marty” and Toni Divers Stallings of Hobbsville; her sister, Kinnan Ellison Stallings of Wilson; her paternal grandmother, Viva Yeager Stallings of Hobbsville; and many extended family members and friends.

 She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, S. Ray Stallings, and her maternal grandparents, Preston and Belle Landing Divers.

 Funeral services will be held Friday, September 20th, at 3:00 p.m. in Hobbsville Baptist Church and will be conducted by her pastor, The Rev. Tim Dannelly. The burial will follow in the church cemetery. Friends may visit with the family in the social hall immediately following the service, or all other times at the residence.

 The family wishes to express their deep appreciation to the staff of Chowan River Nursing & Rehabilitation for the care and attention given to Whitney while she was a resident there, and to the medical providers at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital for the comfort and care provided during her recent illness. But most especially they are grateful to the family that provided a donor’s heart 30 years ago, to the doctors who transplanted it into her tiny chest when she was only eight years old, and to the Lord who gave her the strength to live and bless their lives.
