Virginia Lee Williams

   Virginia Lee Williams, 93, formerly of Edenton, NC, and more recently of Shallotte, died Wednesday, March 22, 2023 in Brunswick Health & Rehabilitation Center.

   Mrs. Williams was born in Beaufort County on January 26, 1930 and was the daughter of the late Obed and Minnie Clark Lee. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Guy P. Williams, Sr.; two sons, an infant and Guy, Jr.; her sister, Olivia Lee Brabble; and by brothers, James Benjamin “J.B.”, Obed Lenwood, and Robert E. Lee.

   Mrs. Williams had retired from the Pelikan Corporation (formerly Carter’s Ink) and was a member of Yeopim Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for 50 years, was a member of the Adult Choir, and had been active in the Women’s Missionary Society.

   Surviving is her son, The Rev. Terry M. Williams (wife, Jane) of Shallotte; her daughter-in-law, Betty Williams of New Bern; six grandchildren, Kevin, Michael, and Chad Williams, Jennifer Williams Fueston, and Rebecca and Rachel Ceglia; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and other members of the Lee and Williams families.

   Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 25^th at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Miller Funeral Home & Crematory, 735 Virginia Road, and will be conducted by the Rev. Eric Lindblade. Friends may visit with the family the hour prior to the service. The burial in Beaver Hill Cemetery will be private.

   In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to Camp United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 776, Shallotte, NC 28459 and noted to be used for the “Ladies on the Bus Fund”, a group of special ladies from the church that go in a group to visit shut-ins and bring joy into their lives.
