Tyrone Thomas White

Tyrone Thomas White, 72, of Elizabeth City, NC, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, December 29, 2023 from Sentara Albemarle Medical Center, Elizabeth City.

Mr. White was born in Pasquotank County on October 1, 1951, and was the son of the late Vernon and Naomi James White. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Vernita C. White, a brother, Vernon Bernard White, and by a brother-in-law, William Daniels.

Chesson Construction Co, a position he took great pride in and always worked at with a spirit of dedication and doing his best to handle the needs of his customers in a professional manner. He supported Habitat for Humanity, giving him a way to help others and to use the carpentry skills in which he had been blessed. A faithful member of Union Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, for many years he had served on both its Usher Board and on the Board of Trustees. Among his many enjoyments in life, he loved the outdoors and gardening. He cared deeply for all his family, was a loving husband, supportive father and grandfather, and dear uncle to his many nieces and nephews.

Surviving is his beloved wife of 48 years, Janet Miles White; two daughters, Taryn T. White of Greenville and Tierra T. White of Elizabeth City; a son, Tyrone T. White, II, also of Elizabeth City; his one grandson and apple of his eye, Miles T. White Dixon of Greenville; two sisters, Edith D. Sylvester (husband, Vernon) of Shiloh and Debra A.
