Thomas Earl “Tommy” Horton, 74, of Eure, passed away Friday, November 29, 2024, in ECU Health and Hospice Service League of Greenville.
Mr. Horton was born in Portsmouth, VA on July 21, 1950, and was the son of the late Paul Forrest and Rita Marie Stephenson Horton. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a stepson, Justin Thomas Long.
Retired as a weapons specialist from Norfolk Naval Shipyard following 25 years of employment, he loved music and playing guitar and was a talented singer and songwriter.
Surviving is his wife, Janet Parker Horton; two sons, John Paul Horton of Eure and Thomas Edward “Little Tommy” Horton (Stefanie) of Ahoskie; two stepsons, Jody Parker Long (Melanie) of Kill Devil Hills and Jason Kip Long (Christie) of Eure; a sister, Lynda Johnson (Dale) of Puyallup, WA; four grandchildren, Joseph, Ashlyn, Noah, and Cody; a nephew, James (Jessica); a great-niece, Lilly; and other extended family and friends.
In accordance with his wishes, no formal services will be held.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Church at the Crossroads, 203 E. Main Street, Ahoskie, NC 27910, for use in the Crossroads Music Fund.
