Theodore Frederick Boswell

   Theodore Frederick Boswell, MCPO, US Navy Retired, 87, of 152 Dogwood Drive, Hertford, NC, passed away Monday, April 13, 2020, in Commonwealth Memory Care in Chesapeake, VA.

   Mr. Boswell was born in St. Louis, MO on July 31, 1932, and was the son of the late Theodore Roosevelt and Marvel Oberbeck Boswell. A retired Master Chief Petty Officer in the US Navy, Submarine Force, following over 22 years of service, he was a member of the William Paul Stallings Post 126 of the American Legion and was a Baptist by faith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Michael D. Boswell and by two brothers.

   Surviving are his wife of 68 years, Nedra Bean Boswell; three daughters, Debra L. Lastinger (Charles), Sandra J. Cox (Earl), and Thea L. Dale (Brett); a brother, Lawrence E. Boswell; eight grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren.

   A private celebration of his life will be held by the family. Miller & Van Essendelft, Funeral and Cremation Providers, 1125 Harvey Point Road, Hertford, is assisting the family with arrangements.

   In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made either to the American Legion Post 126, 111 W. Academy Street, Hertford, NC 27944, or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, PO Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38101-9908.
