Tenna Mae Bridges-Miller

   Tenna Mae Bridges-Miller, 63, of Conway, NC, passed away Friday, November 3, 2023 at her home where she was being cared for by her family.

   Born in Athens, TN on Friday, September 9, 1960, she was the only daughter of the John David “Johnny’ Bridges and Virginia Mickey Simmons Bridges.

   In addition to her beloved parents, she was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Roy and Emma Simmons, paternal grandparents, William and Kate Bridges, and by a brother Charles G. Purdy Sr.

   She went to Suffolk High School in Suffolk, VA, and later attended Chattanooga State Nursing School in Chattanooga, TN. A Licensed Practical Nurse, she retired from Hamilton County Nursing Home in Chattanooga, TN

   A hard-working, fun-loving, spirited woman who loved her family with all she had, she loved bowling, crafting, gardening, playing bingo, and was an avid movie lover.

   A beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister, she will be sorely missed by her extended family and friends.

   Surviving is her husband of 46 years, Roy W. Miller, Sr.; two daughters. Shannon Bridges- Pittman (Matthew) of Ringgold, GA and Linda Miller (Freddie Wolverton) of Conway, NC; a son, Roy W. Miller “Buddy” (April) also of Conway, NC; a stepdaughter, Cathy D. Sizemore (Keith) of Ringgold, GA; and a brother, Alfred O. Bridges (Jacqueline) of Ooltewah, TN. The loving grandmother of four grandchildren, Sara Ann Fagnan of Ringgold, GA, Brandi Lynn Miller of Eure, Grace Marie Carter and Joseph Milton Carter, both of Hobbsville, NC; and a step-grandson.

   In accordance with her wishes no services are planned. A private family gathering will be held at a later date.
