Susan Ackerman Patrick

   Susan Stephanie Ackerman Patrick, 71, of 209 Hawthorne Road, Edenton, NC, died Tuesday, February 22, 2022 in Vidant Medical Center, Greenville.

   Mrs. Patrick was born in Rochester, New York on August 31, 1950, and was the daughter of the late Robert John “Bob” Ackerman and Frances Stephanie Saucuniac Ackerman.

   A lab analyst in the pharmaceutical industry, she was a homemaker and a veteran’s wife, and through her husband’s service in both the Army and the Marine Corps, she volunteered extensively as a member of the auxiliaries of American Legion Post #40, the Marine Corps League, and the Vietnam Veterans, where she had served as District One President. At Post 40, she worked tirelessly with the annual Chowan County Fair, and in their catering ventures and fundraising activities.

   Surviving is her husband of 47 years, Joseph John Patrick; a daughter, Diann P. McKenzie of Jackson Springs; a son, Timothy Patrick (Linda) of West End; a sister, Shirley Bentley; and two brothers, Bob and Rick Ackerman. Also surviving are six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

   In accordance with her wishes, no service is planned. Miller Funeral Home & Crematory, 735 Virginia Road, assisted the family with arrangements.
