Steven T. Spencer

   Steven T. Spencer, 71, of Camden, NC, passed away Monday, January 10, 2022, in his home surrounded by family.

   Mr. Spencer was born in Pasquotank County on May 8, 1950, and he was the son of the late Jack and Marie Spencer. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Daryl Spencer.

   A retired electrician, he had been employed with Norfolk Naval Shipyard for 33 years and had retired with special achievement awards. A member of Providence Baptist Church in Shawboro, he loved fishing and treasure hunting.

   Surviving are his wife of 49 years, Belinda; his son, Jason Spencer of Spartanburg, SC; a sister, Annette Sawyer of Elizabeth City; two brothers, Jimmie Spencer of Moyock and Jackie Spencer (wife, Jeanette) of Kinston; two sisters-in-law, Charlotte Spencer of Shawboro and Beverly Spencer of Lampasas, TX; his best friend and canine companion, Gator; two grand-cats, Meadow and Cooper; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

   In accordance with his wishes, a private service will be held.

   The family asks that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions in his memory be made to the SPCA of Northeastern North Carolina, 102 Enterprise Drive, Elizabeth City, NC 27909.
