Steven Paul Riddick, 68, of Sandy Cross Road, died Tuesday, February 4, 2025, in Wilson Medical Center.
Steve was born in Gatesville on August 22, 1956, and was the son of the late James Roy, Sr. and Amaryllis Lang Riddick. A faithful member of Sandy Cross Baptist Church as long as his health permitted, he was most proud of the way the church honored him years ago in celebrating “Steve Riddick Day”. Always friendly, always smiling, and always ready to talk to folks, Steve had a heart full of love for others.
Surviving is his sister, Linda Ricks (husband, Richard) of Indianapolis, IN; his brother, James Riddick (wife, Anita, deceased) of Edenton; two nieces, Kimberly Andresen (husband, Matt) of Bakersfield, CA and Karen Miller (husband, Chris) of Camby, IN; great-nieces, Abigail, Sarah, and Grace Miller, and Hannah Andresen; great-nephews, Caleb and Samuel Andresen; and many extended members of the large Lang and Riddick families.
Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2:00 p.m. in Sandy Cross Baptist Church and will be conducted by Pastor Brett Hutchins. The burial will be in the Town of Gatesville Cemetery. Friends are invited to visit with the family Saturday from 6 to 7 pm in Miller & Van Essendelft Funeral Home, 304 Main Street, Gatesville, or in the social hall of the church immediately following the service on Sunday.
Memorial contributions in his memory may be made to Sandy Cross Baptist Church, in care of Barbara Jones, 498 Acorn Hill Road, Sunbury, NC 27979.
