Steven Ward Peterson

   Steven Ward Peterson, 71, of Hertford, NC, died Sunday, April 2, 2023 in Elizabeth City Health and Rehabilitation.

   Mr. Peterson was born in Alamance County on May 23, 1951, and was the son of the late William V. Peterson and Mary Sue Rogers Donnell. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-father, Samuel L. Donnell.

   Surviving is his wife of 46 years, Patricia Armstrong "Patty" Peterson; two sons, Eric Peterson (Bethany) and Allen Peterson (Melissa); two sisters, Barbara Ramsey (Donny) and Lisa Fogleman (Dean); three grandchildren, Nicholas, Natalie, and Evan; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

   At his request, no services will be held.

   The family wishes to thank his many care providers for all their compassionate care and comfort provided to him and his family through the years. Among them includes his longtime caregiver, Mary Riddick, the staff of Always Caring, to Jenny and Penny of the Perquimans County Senior Nutrition Program, to the volunteers with Meals on Wheels, and more recently to the staff and physicians of both Sentara Albemarle Medical Center and Elizabeth City Health and Rehabilitation.
