Shirley Brinkley Umphlett, 96, of Eure, NC, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 31, 2024.
Mrs. Umphlett was born in Ahoskie on October 15, 1927, and was the daughter of the late Ledia A. and Lou Overton Brinkley. An active part of the Eure community of Gates County, she was a faithful member of Eure Baptist Church. Surviving are her two children, Patricia U. Williams and Ronnie L. Umphlett; her four grandchildren, Bob Williams (Caroline), Beth DeWitt (Ken), Anna Umphlett, and R.J. Umphlett; three great-grandchildren, Brendon DeWitt, Nate Williams, and Caroline Williams; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
