   Sharon Lynn Barnes Williams, 67, of 1004 Hwy 305, Aulander, NC, past away Friday, April 17, 2020 in Vidant Roanoke-Chowan Hospital, Ahoskie.

   Mrs. Williams was born in Burbank, CA on April 19, 1952, and was the daughter of the late Frank Edward Barnes and Zoa Marie Martin Barnes. Earlier in her career she was a Police Officer with the Los Angeles Police Department, a small business owner, homemaker and most recently she had been employed and retired as a dispatcher with the Hertford County Sheriffs Office. She was a member of the Open Arms Church in Ahoskie with a strong faith and attended services regularly. She was a former member of the Edward G. Bond Unit 40 of the American Legion Auxiliary in Edenton. She was also a cancer survivor.

   In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Greg Barnes.

   Surviving are her husband of 24 years, Bernie Williams; a son, Jeff Edwards and wife, Sherry, of Elizabeth City; a step-son, Chris Williams and wife, Pam, of Indiana; a sister, Linda Marie Endreola, and husband, Ron and nephew, Johnny, of Sacramento, CA; three grandsons, Jeffrey Tyler, Andrew Scott, and Jacob Silas Edwards; and a step-granddaughter, Evelyn.

   At her request there will be no services held. Miller Funeral Home & Crematory, 735 Virginia Road, Edenton, is assisting the family with arrangements. The family would like to thank you for all your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

   In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to any chapter of the American Cancer Society or American Legion.
