Shalimar Strahan, 59, of Hertford, NC, passed away peacefully Thursday morning, April 25, 2024 in her home.
Shalimar was born in Amarillo, TX on November 13, 1964. She had been employed at Perdue in Concord as a Quality Assurance Technician, and had served as a security officer at Pinkerton. In the early 2000’s, Shalimar was an intricate part of starting Charlotte Pride and had served on its Board of Directors. Shalimar’s hobbies were golfing, working on vehicles, and repairing lawnmowers. Before moving to Hertford, NC in 2014, Shalimar attended Unifour Church and Abundant Grace Church. A kind, loving, and generous person, she was a loyal friend who loved her family and friends without condition.
Shalimar will be lovingly remembered and dearly missed by her son, Timothy Lacks; foster parents, Ed and Sally Walker of Hertford; foster brothers and sisters, Shane Walker, Karen Walker, Tanya Walker, and Eddie Walker; her sister, Sherri Strahan of Rocky Mount; her chosen brother, Dallas Tribble and his wife, Laura Tribble; followed by her nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death and now reunited with her mother, Patsy Strahan, and her beloved dog, Rev Strahan.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, June 1, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. in Unifour Church, 2257 Old Conover Startown Rd., Newton, NC.
