Sarah Langston Parker Haddock, 97, a former longtime resident of Atlanta, GA, and more recently of Inspired Living at Alpharetta, died Thursday, September 21, 2023.
Mrs. Haddock was born in what is now known as Suffolk, VA on September 27, 1925 and was the daughter of the late Borland Thomas and Hannah Kate Parker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Franklin Haddock.
A retired bookkeeper with Cape and Companies, she was a member of St. James United Methodist Church in the Buckhead and Brookhaven neighborhoods of Atlanta. As a child she was raised in the fellowship of Somerton United Methodist Church in the Whaleyville community of Nansemond County, VA.
Surviving are her longtime friends and caregivers, Jim and Hokie Cape of Atlanta; a cousin, Mary Langston Willey of Gaston, NC; and a cousin-in-law, Frances Ann Langston (husband deceased, John Robert Langston) of Gates; and other extended members of the Parker and Langston families.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, September 30th, at 1:00 p.m. in the Somerton U.M.C. Cemetery and will be conducted by the Rev. Burt Pearce. Friends may visit with the family at the church immediately following the service.
