Sandy Jeffery Spruill

   Sandy Jeffery Spruill, 66, of 9446 US Highway 62, Hillsboro, Ohio, and a former longtime resident of Creswell, NC, died Friday, November 4, 2022 in Select Specialty Hospital in Cincinnati, OH.

   Mr. Spruill was born in Norfolk, VA on May 27, 1956, and was the son of the late William Clyde, Jr. and Ramona Dare Ambrose Spruill. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant son, Samuel Joseph Spruill.

   Retired from Domtar (formerly Weyerhaeuser) in Plymouth after more than 42 years of employment, he was a member of Zion’s Chapel Church of Christ in Roper. Many will remember Sandy for his many years of singing and sharing his music in area churches.

   Surviving is his wife of 46 years, Carla Dail Spruill; their children, Caroline S. Cross (husband, Daniel) of Blacksburg, VA, Julia S. McNear (husband, Daniel) of Lebanon, OH, and Jeffrey Spruill (wife, Andrea) of Hillsboro, OH; a brother, William Clyde “Billy” Spruill III (wife, Cindy) of Creswell; a sister, Barbara Grissom Spring of Carthage; and four grandchildren, Elijah, Ezekiel and Josiah Spruill, and Abigail McNear. His fifth grandchild, Kenneth Daniel McNear, is due to be born in January.

   Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 12^th, at 2:00 p.m. in Zion’s Chapel Church of Christ and will be conducted by Minister Phillip Alligood. Friends are invited to visit with the family in the church the hour prior to services. The private burial will be on the family plot at Philippi Church of Christ Cemetery.
