Sandra Hedgepeth Pope

   Sandra Ann Hedgepeth Pope, 68, of 630 US 13 South, Eure, NC, died Friday, August 26, 2022 in VCU Medical Center, Richmond, VA.

   Mrs. Pope was born August 14, 1954, and was the daughter of Sadie Whitley Hedgepeth of Eure and the late James Pollard Hedgepeth. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Nathan Pope in 2016 after 37 years of marriage.

   Retired from the Hertford County Department of Social Services, she was a member of Cool Spring Baptist Church where she had served as the church treasurer and on the Bereavement Committee.

   With her mother other survivors include her son, Rodney Pope; and her brother, Ricky Hedgepeth (wife, Paige) all of Eure.

   Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 31^st, at 2:00 p.m. in Cool Spring Baptist Church and will be conducted by the Rev. Charlie Brown. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Friends may join the family Tuesday from 7 to 8 p.m. in Miller Funeral Home, 304 Main Street, Gatesville, or in the church social hall immediately following the service.
