Samuel Wayne “Sammy” Williams, 52, of 25th Street Place, died Tuesday, September 3, 2024, in UNC Caldwell Memorial Hospital, Lenoir.
Sammy was born in Chowan County on May 14, 1972, and was the son of James Robert “Bobby” Williams of Edenton and the late Joyce Clements Williams.
The general manager of Ruby Tuesdays in Lenoir, he was an avid outdoorsman and loved to hunt and fish. Sammy loved life and lived it to the fullest. He never met a stranger, loved his friends, and they loved him.
In addition to his father, he is survived by his brothers, Jimmy Williams (Lennie) of China Grove, Anthony Williams (Shannon) of Sanford, and Ryan Williams (Tara) of Edenton; his friend and companion, Sarah Pitts of Lenoir; his nieces and nephews, Charli Grace, Austin Robert, Landon, Noah, Byron, Mason, and Katelyn; other extended family members, and many, many friends.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, September 8th, at 2:00 p.m. in the Miller & Van Essendelft Funeral Home Chapel, 735 Virginia Road, Edenton, and will be conducted by his brother, Jimmy Williams. The burial will follow in Beaver Hill Cemetery and those rites will be conducted by longtime family friend, The Rev. Joey Nixon. Friends may visit with the family on Saturday from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. in the funeral home and other times at the home of his father, 3010 Rocky Hock Road, Edenton.
