Ruth White Cobb

   Ruth Earline White Cobb, 82, of 553 Plantation Drive, Chesapeake, VA, and formerly of Windsor, NC, passed away on Wednesday, December 19, 2018, in Chesapeake Regional Medical Center.

   Mrs. Cobb was born in Bertie County on January 30, 1936, and was the daughter of the late Jessie Etherton and Lizzie Jernigan White. She was formerly employed in Nutrition Services with the Chesapeake Public Schools.

   In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Francis Cobb; and by her brothers, Earl and Marshall White.

   Surviving are two sons and their wives, Joe and Jacqueline Cobb, and Ray and Julea Cobb, all of Chesapeake; two sisters, Frances Davis of Ahoskie and Joyce Bullock of Williamston; a brother, J.T. White of Askewville; and five grandchildren, Joe II, Hanna, Jonathan, Jessica, and Aaron Cobb.

   Graveside services will be held Saturday at 2:00 p.m. in Edgewood Cemetery in Windsor, NC. Friends may join the family for a time of visitation on Friday from 6 to 7 p.m. in Miller Funeral Home & Crematory, 735 Virginia Road, Edenton.
