Roy Clifton Williams, Jr.

   Roy Clifton Williams, Jr., 77, 10306 NC Highway 94 North, Creswell, NC, died Sunday, January 16, 2022 in his home where he was cared for by his family.

   Mr. Williams was born in Currituck County on January 3, 1945, and was the son of the late Roy Clifton Williams, Sr. and Laura Elizabeth Leary Williams. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Betty Jo Davenport.

   A skilled craftsman and retired farmer, he was a member of Zion’s Chapel Church of Christ in Roper.

   Surviving is his wife of over 55 years, Cheryl Ann Spruill Williams; their daughters, Sonia W. Rivenbark (husband, Jay) of Edenton and Cher W. Byrum (husband, Mike) of Suffolk, VA; four grandchildren, Asheton Smith (husband, Justin), Joshua Rivenbark (wife, Lynse), Jonathan Byrum (wife, Virginia), and Brandon Byrum (wife, Erin); and four great-grandchildren, Tucker, Grier, Mason, and Emma.

   DUE TO THE FORCASTED WINTER STORM, the memorial service has been rescheduled to Thursday, January 20th, at 1:00 p.m. in Zion’s Chapel Church of Christ and will be conducted by Pastor Mark Wilmoth. Friends may visit with the family immediately following the service.
