Roy Vervel Simmons

   Roy Vervel Simmons, 83, of Elizabeth City, NC, passed away Monday, October 30, 2023.

   Mr. Simmons was born in Pasquotank on February 4, 1940, and was the son of the late Harvel Fonzo Simmons and Pearl Mae Gurganus Simmons. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Ermer Simmons, and by brothers, Gene and Edward Simmons.

   Surviving are his two sisters, Shirley Wright (husband, Horace) and Stella Kuno (husband, Michael); a brother, Billy Simmons; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

   In accordance with his wishes, no services are planned.
