Roy Clarence Bunch

   Roy Clarence Bunch, 93, of 442 Selwin Road, Belvidere, NC, died Saturday, April 20, 2019 in Elizabeth City Health and Rehabilitation Center.

   Mr. Bunch was born in Chowan County on June 5, 1925, and was the son of the late Warner C. and Lena Mae Bunch. A Navy veteran, once he completed his military service he returned home and served as the Postmaster of the Belvidere Post Office for 53 years. A lifetime member of Warwick Baptist Church, he faithfully served as a deacon and for over 60 years as treasurer.

   In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, infant Evelyn Bunch, Georgia Dudugjian, and Barbara Bunch.

  Surviving are his wife of 70 years, Clemma Layden Bunch; a daughter, Rhonda B. Hare and husband, Jerry, of Wake Forest; a son, Rodney C. Bunch and wife, Lynne, of Elizabeth City; three grandchildren, Jeffrey B. Hare, David W. Hare and wife, Jennifer, and Timothy W. Bunch and wife, Teague; and four great-grandchildren, Jonathan Hare, John David Hare, Kailyn Hare, and Silas Bunch.

   Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 3:00 p.m. in Warwick Baptist Church, and will be conducted by his pastor, the Rev. Kip Vinson. A private burial will follow in the Bunch Family Cemetery near the home. Friends may join the family in the fellowship hall immediately following the church service, and all other times at the residence.

   In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
