Ronnie R. Sidwell

 Ronnie Ray Sidwell, 79, of Hertford, NC, departed for Heaven on Tuesday, June 18, 2024 from ECU Medical Center, Greenville.

 Mr. Sidwell was born in Norfolk, VA on January 14, 1945, and was the son of the late Melvin Lyle and Dorcas Ann Perry Sidwell. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Christopher Steven Sidwell.

 Ronnie was raised in Virginia Beach, VA and was a master HVAC technician having been employed with the City of Virginia Beach for 29 years before his retirement. Through the years he also maintained a small heating and air business where he developed lasting friendship and customers who dearly loved him. Ronnie retired in 2010 and later made his home in the Snug Harbor community of Hertford in 2012 with his wife Edna. While living in Hertford, he enjoyed membership in Bethel Baptist Church.

 Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 20 years, Edna Manning Sidwell; a daughter, Kimberley Sidwell Lenegar of Virginia Beach; a son, Brandon Ray Sidwell (wife, Leah), also of Virginia Beach; a brother, Melvin Perry “Buddy” Sidwell (wife, Nancy) of Jackson, a sister, Ann Sidwell Carter of Virginia Beach; two grandsons, Brayden and Adam Lenegar, who called Ronnie “Peepaw”, two granddaughters, Skyela Grace Navey and Hailey Ray Sidwell, who called him “Bebe”, all of Virginia Beach; a sister-in-law, Cindy Sidwell of Suffolk, VA; cousins, Micki Patterson of Kentucky, Jerry and Sue Linquist, and Jack and Lynn Capeti, all of Minnesota; and a dear friend and sister in Christ, Tina Jones of Virginia Beach.

 A service of remembrance will be held Saturday, July 27, 2024, at 3:00 p.m. in Bethel Baptist Church, 794 Burnt Mill Road, Hertford. Friends may visit with the family in the fellowship hall immediately following the service.
