Romona Dail Dempsey

   Romona Dail Dempsey, 92, of Edenton, NC, passed away Saturday, December 23, 2023 in her home.

   Mrs. Dempsey was born in Perquimans County on March 1, 1931, and was the daughter of the late Ernest James and Ruth Wilder Dail. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Randolph Dempsey, sisters, Dixie Lee, Denise Dail Mabine, and Velma Jones, and by brothers, George Simpson and Gene Dail.

   Having a servant’s heart, for many years she had been employed as an assistant in childcare services.

   Surviving are her three sisters, Ernestine Hall of Edenton, Ethel Paskel of Hayward, CA, and Brenda Ferebee of Lindale, TX; a stepson, Ronald Mitchell of Edenton; and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

   A celebration of her life will be held Saturday, January 6, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at her sister Ernestine Hall’s home, 1205 Paradise Road, Edenton.
