Robert James Lawson

   Robert James “Bob” Lawson, 71, of Hobbs Acre Drive, Edenton, NC, died Wednesday, November 11, 2020 in his home.

   Mr. Lawson was born in Middlesex County, MA on November 16, 1948 and was the son of the late Kathryn I. Hartinger Lawson. The retired owner and operator of RJL Realty Trust, he was a strong supporter of law enforcement, a longtime Republican, and an Edenton Steamers enthusiast. Other enjoyments included membership in both the Edward G. Bond Post 40 of the American Legion and the Masonic Lodge.

   In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his brother, Billy Lawson.

   Surviving are his daughter, Colleen Lawson Patterson and husband, Matt Essink; two grandchildren, Liam James Lawson and Riley Kathryn Patterson; two sisters, Sandra Lawson and Mary Ann Zabchuck; and a brother, Larry Lawson.

   A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 21, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Miller Funeral Home & Crematory, 735 Virginia Road, Edenton, and will be conducted by Minister Bob Brock. Friends may join the family at the residence.

   In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children, 2900 Rocky Point Drive, Tampa FL 33607.
