Robert Thomas Campbell, 98, of Lewes, DE, passed away Thursday, February 18, 2021 in his daughter's home in Elizabeth City, NC.
Mr. Campbell was born in Brooklyn, NY on November 20, 1922, and was the son of the late Bernard and Elizabeth Weiss Campbell. A fleet mechanic, he retired from the City of Yonkers, NY. A World War II veteran, he served in the US Army Air Corps as a gunner on a B-17 Bomber, having completed 29 combat missions over Europe.
In addition to his parents, he as preceded in death by his wife, Gloria Whitmarsh Campbell, a sister, Dorothy Laporte; and by brothers, Frank and William Campbell.
Surviving are his three daughters, Brenda Belletto (Michael) of Elizabeth City, Teresa C. Adams of Salt Lake City, UT, and Claudia Eyley of New Zealand; two sons, Brian Campbell of Georgetown, DE and Thomas Campbell (Lisa) of Draper, UT; 13 grandchildren, Danielle, Brianna, Kyle, Hilary, Cayden, Jennifer, Emily, Rebecca, Benjamin, Elizabeth, Catherine, Brigid, and Lydia; and seven great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Inurnment will be in the columbarium niche at Lewes Presbyterian Church in Lewes, DE.
