Ricky Wayne Trueblood

   Ricky Wayne Trueblood, 75, of 1483 Harvey Point Road, Hertford, NC, passed away Sunday, December 4, 2022 in ECU Health Medical Center, Greenville.

   Mr. Trueblood was born in Pasquotank County on May 29, 1947, and was the son of the late Clinton Nathan, Sr. and Bertie Hurdle Trueblood. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Reggie Wayne Trueblood; sisters, Dorothy Spruill, Elizabeth Cayton, Joann Kirby, and Cleo Walker; and by brothers, Phillip, Clinton Jr., William, and Jack Trueblood.

   The owner and operator of Ricky Trueblood and Sons Plumbing, he grew up in the fellowship of the former Epworth United Methodist Church, and had more recently attended House Fellowship. Among his many enjoyments in life included his love of fishing, hunting, and playing golf.

   Surviving is his wife of 53 years, Caroline Dail Trueblood; a son, Ricky Carroll Trueblood of Hertford; two sisters, Phyllis Harris of Elizabeth City and Betty Lou Griffin of Hertford; three grandchildren, Justin Mills, Kaitlyn Christian, and Megan Trueblood; a great-grandson, Daxton; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

   A memorial service will be held Thursday at 3:00 p.m. in the Miller & Van Essendelft Funeral Chapel, 1125 Harvey Point Road, Hertford, and will be conducted by Pastor Russell Bootwright. Friends may visit with the family in the funeral home immediately following the service on Thursday, and all other times at the residence.
