Richard Ellery Rose

   Richard Ellery "Ricky" Rose, 54, of 120 Brammer Lane, Hertford, NC, went to be with the Lord, Saturday, January 26, 2019, after a battle with cancer.

   Mr. Rose was born in Hopewell, VA on May 4, 1964, and was the son of Jo Ella Collins Rose Brammer and her husband, Karl, of Hertford, and the late Grover Cleveland Rose.  Employed with Honeywell Corporation for many years, Ricky was raised in the fellowship of First Congregational Church of Christ in Hopewell.

   In addition to his father, a sister, Teresa Rose Creech, preceded him in death.

   Surviving along with his mother and step-father are his two sisters, Gracie Brammer of Hertford, and Valerie Rose Summerfield (Keith) of Hopewell; two brothers, Robbie Rose (Kim) of Dinwiddie, VA, and Greg Rose (Shirley), of Prince George, VA; a step-son, Derek Schaffer of Dinwiddie; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

   A celebration of life service will be held Saturday, February 9, at 11:00 a.m. in First Congregational Christian Church, 305 Memorial Avenue, Hopewell, VA.  Miller & Van Essendelft, Funeral and Cremation Providers, 1125 Harvey Point Road, Hertford, is assisting the family with arrangements.

   Memorial contributions may be made either to the building fund of Bethlehem Church of Christ, P.O. Box 598, Hertford, NC 27944, or to any chapter of the American Cancer Society.
