Rev. Robert Houston Hargrove

 The Reverend Robert Houston Hargrove, 90, of 118 Emperor Landing Road, Edenton, NC, died Thursday, October 17, 2024, in his home.

 Rev. Hargrove was born on August 1, 1934, and was the son of the late Ralph Houston Hargrove and Pauline Storms Hargrove. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death in May of this year by his wife, Alethea Allen Hargrove, after nearly 69 years of marriage; and by his daughter, Cherie H. Lemaster.

 Retired from the North Carolina Conference of United Methodist Churches, Rev. Hargrove had served parishes in both southeastern North Carolina and Virginia, notably churches in Pender, Columbus, Brunswick, and Robeson counties.

 Surviving are his children, Melanie Ann Ballenger (husband, Ricky) of Castle Hayne, NC, and Charlene H. Watson and Robert Allen Hargrove (wife, Janet), both of Edenton; two sisters, Micky Tatum and Mary Ann Hester, both of Elizabethtown, NC; five grandchildren, Michael Floyd, Keri Jackson Thrasher, Autumn Watson, Ashley Watson, and Elizabeth Lemaster; and seven great-grandchildren.

 In accordance with his wishes, services will be private.
