Phyllis Bagley Thompson

   Phyllis Dianne Bagley Thompson, 83, of Martinsville, VA., peacefully passed away Wednesday, April 10, 2024 at her residence.

   Mrs. Thompson was born in Winfall, NC on June 5, 1940 to the late William L. Bagley and Mary Elizabeth Byrum Bagley. A 1958 graduate of Perquimans County High School having won the Miss Perquimans Beauty Pageant that same year, she lived her adult life in the states of Michigan and Virginia. She retired from Tarmac Cement Company as an Executive Secretary.

   A loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to many, she was known for her Christ-like Spirit, and faithfully shared Bible Studies and Christ with others. She was a woman of great faith and a member of Epworth Methodist Church, and most recently attended Mica Road Baptist Church.

   Surviving is her husband, Jeffrey L. Thompson; sons, Charles J. Niederstadt, Jr. (Ruth) of Martinsville, and William F. Niederstadt (Shellie) of Chesapeake, VA; four grandchildren, Tyler, Sarah, Hailey, and Gabrielle; three great-granddaughters, Isabelle, Lakeland, and Adeline; sisters, Nancy Baker (James, deceased) of Belvidere and Jeanne Harris (Tom) of Clermont, FL; a niece, Lori Warmunde, and nephews, Dan Baker, Tom Harris and Matt Harris.

   She will be missed beyond measure. Her faith and memories will continue to inspire and bless all who knew and loved her.

   The family has planned a local gathering to celebrate and honor her life. A private burial will be held in Cedarwood Cemetery.

   Norris Funeral Services and Crematory, Martinsville Chapel, is serving the Thompson family. Miller & Van Essendelft Funeral Home, Hertford, NC, is assisting the family with local arrangements.
