Phylis Ballance Sanderlin Taylor

   Phylis Jane Ballance Sanderlin Taylor, 81, of Sanderlin Road, Shawboro, NC, passed away Monday, January 25, 2021 in her home where she was being cared for by her family.

   Born in Currituck County on October 9, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Daniel and Mary Lamb Ballance. A school secretary, she had retired from Moyock Elementary School following 44 years of employment. She grew up in the fellowship of Providence Baptist Church in Shawboro. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husbands, David Earl Sanderlin and Robert Graham Taylor; a daughter, Rhonda Budnick; sisters, Rosa Johnson and Glenna Lancaster; and by an infant brother, Dempsey Ballance.

   Surviving are her four daughters, Vicky Hampton of Shawboro, Rhonda Curling of Virginia Beach, VA, Debra Raynor of Chesapeake, VA, and Robin Pennington of Maple; three sons, Earl Sanderlin of Kill Devil Hills, Robbie Taylor (wife, Theresa) of Elizabeth City, and Wayne Taylor (wife, Charlene) of Currituck; a sister, Grace Swain of Virginia Beach; two brothers, Robert Ballance of Shawboro and Daniel Ballance of Florida; 10 grandchildren, Heather Bradshaw (husband, Charlie), Christina Budnick, Lauren Warren (husband, Adam), Shannon Foltz (husband, Bucky), Michelle Budnick, Brittany White (husband, Mike), Samantha Arvanitis (husband, Dan), Amber Curling, Jessica Taylor, and Christopher Taylor (wife, Brittany); 15 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.

   At her request, no services will be held. Friends may join the family at the home of her granddaughter, Lauren, 101 East White Pine Drive, Moyock.
