Patty Pennington Jordan

 Patty Joan Pennington Jordan, 91, of 2104 Albemarle Drive, Edenton, NC, died Wednesday, August 7, 2024, in ECU Health Chowan Hospital.

 Mrs. Jordan was born in Marion County, Indiana on September 29, 1932, and was the daughter of the late John J. and Ivy Myrtle Lane Pennington. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Horace Ray “Jack” Jordan; sisters Betty Southgate and June Moore; and by her brother, Bernard Pennington.

 A longtime bank teller, Mrs. Jordan retired in 2003 from RBC Centura Bank in Edenton. She and her husband were charter members of the former Albemarle Baptist Church and she had served as a Sunday School teacher for 40 years.

 Surviving are nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.

 Funeral services will be held Sunday, August 11th, at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Miller & Van Essendelft Funeral Home and Crematory, and will by conducted by her former pastor, The Rev. Greg Brinson, and by Gentiva Hospice Chaplain Rick Lowery. A private burial will follow in Beaver Hill Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family in the funeral home immediately following the chapel service.
