Patricia Gayle Parker

 Patricia Gayle “Patsy” Parker, 77, of Zuni Trail, Edenton, NC, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 29, 2024, in ECU Health Chowan Hospital.

 Patsy was born in Portsmouth, VA on March 13, 1947. A graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School, she later attended Radford College in Blacksburg, VA. She fondly remembered her days in school and loved to tell stories of her college antics. Her mother would send letters daily which she would read again and again in her later years. Patsy loved reading, baking, gardening, and traveling. While growing up, she attended Port Norfolk Baptist Church. She lived in Portsmouth most of her life, later moving to Edenton to be near her father, brother, and family.

 Preceded in death by her mother, Marion Alyse Shearon Parker and later, her father, Deward Mills “Smut” Parker, she is survived by her brother, Rodney Parker and wife, Debby, and their daughters, Lauren and Amanda Parker, as well as many cousins and friends.

 Patsy was an avid dog lover and dearly cared for her own, Snoopy and Dickens; as such, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Tri-County Animal Shelter, 138 Icaria Road, Tyner, NC 27980.
