Patricia Tanner Hanson

   Patricia Ann Tanner Hanson, 76, of Edenton House Assisted Living, Edenton, NC, died there on Tuesday, April 2, 2024.

   Mrs. Hanson was born in Austin, Minnesota on March 10, 1948, and was the daughter of the late Doyle and Gladys Fomasina Tanner. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, April Hastings, and by a brother, Elwin Tanner, and by a son-in-law, Richard Edward Ashley, Sr.

   A retired nursing assistant, she had worked at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota, and after moving to Chowan County worked at Brian Center Health & Rehabilitation in Hertford.

   Surviving are her children, May Campen (husband, Webb) of Edenton, Hollie Bear of Clever, Missouri, and Jason Hanson of Englewood, Colorado; two sisters, Linda Fomasina and Joyce Tanner; a brother, Ken Tanner; seven grandchildren, Rick Ashley (wife, Shauni), Steve Ashley (wife, Kimberly), Brityn, Brooke, and Nile Bear, Michael Joyner (wife, Autumn), and Autumn Tood; and nine great-grandchildren, Rick III, Wyatt, Sadie, Saylor, Dalton, Hayden, Eli, Farrah, and Athena.

   A service celebrating her life will be held Monday, April 8th, at 6 p.m. in Access Point Church and will be conducted by Pastor A.J. Layton. Friends may visit with the family following the service.
