Pat Powell

   Patsy Jane “Pat” Powell, 78, of Suffolk, VA, passed away on Monday, October 23, 2023 in Lake Prince Woods.

   Born in Gates County on November 12, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Frank Edward and Evelyn Harrell Powell. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Virginia Powell Brinkley.

   A member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church, prior to her retirement she worked as a human resources professional in the private sector with organizations including USAA and Sentara. Pat had a deep love for animals, especially her cats, Chloe and Stormy.

   Surviving is her husband of 30 years, Lennie Ray Blanchard; and his son, Shane Lewis Blanchard (wife, Julie), and their children, Addison and Alex. Also surviving are her nieces, Beth Brinkley Turney and Jill Brinkley Northam.

   In accordance with her wishes, there will be no formal service and a private burial will be in the Sandy Cross Baptist Church Cemetery in Hobbsville, NC. 

   Friends are invited to visit with the family on Saturday, October 28th, from 3:00 to 4:30 p.m. in R.W. Baker & Company Funeral Home and Crematory, 509 West Washington Street, Suffolk.
