Nellie King Andrews

   Nellie Mae King Andrews, 83, of 322 Mexico Road, Edenton, NC, passed away on Saturday, December 15, 2018, in her home.

   Nell was born in Gates County on August 18, 1935, and was the daughter of the late Willard and Lessie King. A Registered Nurse, she retired after 44 years, working at both Gulfport Memorial Hospital and Virginia Beach General Hospital. She was a member of the former Albemarle Baptist Church.

   In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Robert E. “Bob” King.

   Surviving are her daughter, Rhoda Carol Landry of Virginia Beach; two sons, Michael Shayne Landry and Rene` Allen Landry, both of Biloxi, MS; a sister, Barbara K. Hofler of Sunbury; two grandchildren, Rachell Croteau and T.J. Ailstock; and five great-grandchildren, Devin, Tori, Samara, Lucas, and Zoey.

   Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Miller Funeral Home & Crematory, 735 Virginia Road, Edenton, and will be conducted by Pastor Del Holloway. Burial will follow in the King Family Cemetery in the Joppa community of Gates County. Friends may join the family Tuesday from 5 to 6:30 p.m. in the funeral home and all other times at the residence.
