Nancy Trueblood Hendrix, 81, of 242 Cannon’s Ferry Road, died Tuesday, March 4, 2025, in ECU Health Chowan Hospital, Edenton.
Mrs. Hendrix was born in Norfolk, Virginia on February 3, 1944, and was the daughter of the late John Wesley “Wes” Trueblood, III and Myrtle Stallings Trueblood. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Johnny Mack Hendrix, who passed away in August of 2024.
Raised in the faith of Riverside Baptist Church, she had retired as the Fiscal Officer with the Edenton division of the Economic Improvement Council.
Surviving is her daughter, Lisa Hendrix Perry (Shane) of Elizabeth City; and two grandchildren, Tony B. Hendrix (Haleigh) and Kayla N. Perry. Among her other survivors are her brothers, Jack Trueblood (Doris) of Elizabeth City and Gordon Trueblood of Ottawa, Canada; and her sister, Elzine Stone of Chesapeake, VA.
In accordance with her wishes, no formal service was held, and she was simply and quietly laid to rest beside Johnny in Beaver Hill Cemetery with her immediate family there to say goodbye.
