Nancy Louise Baker Cobbs, 75, of 225 Shriners Road, Ahoskie, NC, died Sunday, December 31, 2023, in ECU Health Medical Center, Greenville.
Mrs. Cobbs was born in Portsmouth, Virginia on April 17, 1948, and was the daughter of the late Fred Austin Troy Baker and Mary Wright Baker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Linda McDaniel; and by her brother, Dokus Baker.
Retired as a teller with Wells Fargo Bank in Ahoskie, she was currently employed in food service at the Ridgecroft School cafeteria. She was a member of First Baptist Church Ahoskie.
Surviving is her husband of 37 years, Douglas Ray Cobbs, Sr.; her son, Micheal Baker of Raleigh; her sister, Judy Usry of Portsmouth; and her brother, Frank Baker of Galveston, TX. Also surviving are Doug’s children, Douglas R. Cobbs, Jr. (wife, Carrie) of Suffolk, VA and Kimberly Cobbs Cologgi (husband, Mark) of Chesapeake, VA. Together Nancy and Doug shared five grandchildren, Marissa, Bailey, Mason, Lauren, and Lily; and two great-grandchildren, Handley and Finn.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, January 2nd, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. in First Baptist Church Ahoskie and will be conducted by the Revs. Anita Thompson and John Porter. Friends may visit with the family in the fellowship hall immediately following the service, or all other times at Angie and Dean Lilley’s home, 219 Shriners Road.
