Murray Steele McEwen

   Murray Steele McEwen, 94, of 151 Welch Road, Tyner, NC, died Sunday, May 1, 2022 in Vidant Chowan Hospital, Edenton.

   Mr. McEwen was born in the Green Township of Indiana County, Pennsylvania on January 18, 1928, and was one of eight children born to the late Arch Robert and Ella Mae Conrath McEwen. In addition to his parents and five siblings, he was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Gibb Mair McEwen.

   Retired from Regal Ware, Inc. in Kewaskum, Wisconsin, he had served for 13 years in the Army Air Corps and the US Air Force.

   Surviving are four children, Stuart P. McEwen (wife, Janice) of Virginia Beach, John McEwen of Fond du lah, WI, Mark McEwen of Byron, GA, and Christine Ward of Tyner; two sisters, Mary Ellen Henry of California and Esther Mae Hecker of Florida; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

   A memorial service is being planned in Woodville Baptist Church in Mt. Airy, NC and those arrangements will be included in this obituary when complete.
