Murray Elbert Dail, 85, of 1804 Fearing Avenue, Elizabeth City, NC, passed away Tuesday, April 26, 2022 in Elizabeth City Health and Rehabilitation.
Mr. Dail was born in Perquimans County on October 9, 1936, and was the son of the late Walter P. and Laura Mae Copeland Dail. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Hubert Dail.
A retired salesman, in earlier years he was employed with JC Penny, and for many years later in both insurance and real estate. He attended and enjoyed fellowship in Faith Baptist Church. A veteran, he had proudly served his country in the Army.
Surviving is his wife of nearly 63 years, Jacqueline L. "Jackie" Dail; a son, Walter Dail (wife, Ellen) of Malabar, FL; a daughter, Beverly Jones (husband, Keith) of Kill Devil Hills; a sister, Ruby Saunders of Hertford; three brothers, James Dail of Hertford, and Roy and Clarence Dail, both of Tyner; two grandsons, Aaron Jones and John Nolan; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 3:00 p.m. in Faith Baptist Church, and will be conducted by Pastor Bryan Pease. Burial will follow in the Copeland Family Cemetery, Hunter's Fork Road, Tyner. Friends may join the family for a time of visitation in the church the hour prior to the services on Friday, and other times at the residence.
