Mildred Charlotte Clements "Millie" Wise, 74, of 980 Snug Harbor Road, Hertford, NC, passed away on Saturday, April 13th, 2019, in her home where she was surrounded by family.
Mildred was born in Montgomery County, Maryland on April 14, 1944, and was the daughter of the late John Edwin and Eleanor Elizabeth (Ahrendts) Clements. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Stephen and John Clements.
Millie had a significant impact on her family, friends and the communities she lived in. Throughout her life she had a mission to serve God, serve others and make a difference in a variety of roles including Church Deaconess, Town Supervisor for Plainfield Township in NY, Executive Assistant (volunteer) to Menaul school of Albuquerque, NM and as a Sunday School Teacher. While she was passionate in all these roles, her primary focus was being an amazing Wife, Mother and Grandmother.
Surviving are her husband of nearly 55 years, Raymond Frederick Wise, Sr.; two daughters, Charlotte Plows and husband Steve, of Richfield Springs, NY and Dawn Wise of Chicago, IL; two sons, Ray Wise, Jr. and wife, Peige, of Henderson, NV and Mike Wise, Sr. and wife, Diane, of Hertford, NC; two sisters, Kathy Magee of Little Rock, AR and Amy Weiderer of Tampa, FL; two brothers, Jim Clements of Bridgeton, NJ and Russell Clements of Memphis, TN; and six grandchildren, Ashley Pahr (Joshua), Kayla Collins (Daniel), Mike Wise, Jr., Courtney Wise, Samantha Calkins and Christopher Calkins.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 11, 2019 at 11:00AM in Abundant Hope Baptist Church, 700 Willeyton Rd, Gates, NC 27937 and will be conducted by her pastor, The Rev. Walter Black.
