Mildred “Millie” Anne Small Kirchmier Ellington, 88 years of age, died on Saturday, November 13, 2021 in Richmond, VA. She was born May 30, 1933 in Edenton, NC to the late Charles H. and Anne Small.
She is survived by her son, Charles E. Kirchmier, her daughter, Carolyn Kirchmier, her daughter, Susan K. Sylvia (Gil), her beloved grandchildren, Ashley Hernandez (Charlie), Madison Sylvia, and Jackson Sylvia; and three great grandchildren, Avery, Meadow and Hazel Hernandez.
Millie retired in 2012 after more than 20 years as a Real Estate Agent with Long and Foster, originally Bowers, Nelms and Fonville. She also worked tirelessly as a volunteer for the Junior Board Retreat Hospital and the Retreat Gift Shop, the Richmond Children’s Theatre, the Women’s Committee of Richmond Symphony, the Virginia Museum, and the Valentine Museum Junior Board. She also enjoyed playing golf and tennis regularly.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, December 4th, at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Miller Funeral Home & Crematory, 735 Virginia Road, Edenton. The committal service will follow at the Small Family plot in Beaver Hill Cemetery, Edenton. Immediately following the burial there will be a reception to celebrate Millie’s life for family and friends at the home of her niece, Kim Matthews Perry.
