Michael Earl Lane

   Michael Earl “Mike” Lane, 60, of 1218 Macedonia Road, Edenton, NC, died Friday, May 22, 2020 in his home.

   Mr. Lane was born in Chowan County on December 14, 1959, and was the son of the late Norman Earl, Jr. and Virginia Owens Lane. A retired Lieutenant from the NC Department of Corrections following 30 years of employment, he later worked as a firearms instructor with the state. A member of Macedonia Baptist Church, he had also enjoyed membership in the Advance Ruritan Club.

   Surviving are his two sons, Michael Brent Lane and wife, Casey, and their son, Michael Hunter Lane, of Stokes; and Ryan Christopher Lane and wife, Courtney, and their son, Wyatt Owen Lane, of Edenton; a sister, Gail Phelps and husband, James, of Roper; a brother, Don Lane and wife, Monica, of Edenton; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and extended family members.

   Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Miller Funeral Home & Crematory, 735 Virginia Road, Edenton, and will be conducted by the Revs. Chris Gravning and Bob Young. Burial will follow in Beaver Hill Cemetery. Friends may join the family at the residence.
