Michael Allen Cumbia, Sr., 71, of Edenton, NC, passed away Monday, November 18, 2024, in his home where he was being cared for by family.
Mr. Cumbia was born in Chesapeake, VA on September 15, 1953, and was the son of the late Robert Holton Cumbia and Barbara Bryant Sowers. A graduate of Deep Creek High School from the Class of 1972, he was a longtime automotive mechanic having worked in the family business, Cumbia’s Garage, and had been employed with Norfolk Naval Shipyard. An avid outdoorsman, he loved to fish and was a member of Roanoke Bass Masters where he had served as president for many years.
Surviving is his wife of 20 years, Mary Feige Cumbia; three sons, Mike Cumbia, Jr. of
Chesapeake, Chris Cumbia of Arizona, and Matt Cumbia of Greenville; five sisters, Ann Carlon, Kathy Futrell, Beth Fisher, Nelda Powell, and Robin Forbes; a brother, Jim Allman; seven grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.
In accordance with his wishes, no services will be held.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Roanoke Bass Masters, in care of Robert Gurganus, Treasurer, 1990 Goose Road, Robersonville, NC 27871.
